Scents of Somewhere

Wanderlight candle project is about making the world feel closer. Especially for those who can’t travel. Each candle captures the scent and mood of a specific place, offering a sensory journey through smell instead of sight.
For many people, creative inspiration often comes from experiencing new environments, but not everyone has the chance to do that physically. By using scent as a gateway, I hope to spark imagination, memory, and emotion in a way that’s more inclusive. This candle collection are made for people who learn differently or face barriers to travel. This project is my way of showing how creative education can be multi-sensory, emotional, and accessible from anywhere.

I selected these four places: Nepal, Jeju Island, Namibia, and the Amazon Rainforest. They represent four powerful natural elements and moods: the stillness of the mountains, the rhythm of the ocean, the vastness of the desert, and the life force of the rainforest. Each location offers a unique sensory experience, reflecting the emotional and atmospheric range I want to capture through scent. By choosing these places, I invite people to connect with the Earth’s beauty, even if they can’t physically travel there.

I wasn't happy with my drawings, so I tried developing forms in 3D software. Then something interesting come up!
