Thread Pad
Fashion industry generates approximately 92 million tons of textile waste annually (approximately 2 Great Walls of China a year !!!!)
I believe there should be more accessible ways to reuse textiles, so I focused on creating an innovative material that expands the range of options available in the design process.
While textiles are often repurposed into new garments, I’m interested in exploring possibilities beyond clothing, reimagining textile waste as a versatile material for entirely new applications.
Fabric Bio-Foam
Here is a close up of my cushion-like material.
Then it is sandwiched into my laptop bag.
Thread Pad
After developing my material, I visited a thrift store to find a stylish button-up shirt to repurpose.
From there, I shifted my focus to product development,
ensuring that the design could be easily replicated
whether by a factory or a home sewer
Making it accessible for wider production in the future.
